Feeling confused about your religious affiliations this Easter? Fear not, there is still a delicious treat for you. Hot agnostic buns provide all the deliciousness of a traditional hot cross bun without forcing you to eat the ubiquitous Christian symbol, the cross.
1) Mix yeast with milk and set aside until foamy
2) Sift flour and cinnamon into a bowl
3) Rub butter into flour/cinnamon mixture until it looks somewhat like breadcrumbs
4) Whisk the egg into the foamy milk mixture
5) Pour over flour mixture and mix until combined to a soft dough
6) Knead for 5 minutes
7) Place in a bowl and set aside to rise for about 30-45 minutes
8) Preheat oven to 220 deg celcius
9) Punch dough after 45 minutes, then knead for another couple of minutes
10) Divide mixture into 16 portions and shape into rounds
11) Place on a greased oven tray and let rise until about double in size (around 30 minutes)
12) Bake in the oven for 10 minutes then reduce to 200 deg celcius and bake for another 10 minutes or until buns make a hollow sound when tapped.
13) Put glaze ingredients into saucepan and boil, then simmer for about 4 minutes without stirring.
14) Brush over the hot buns, and transfer to a wire rack to cool.
15) Agnostics rejoice, you to can enjoy Easter
